February 16, 2009 – FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Brands & Company, LLC. a management consulting firm was established February 16, 2009.The firm founded and headed up by Robert F. Brands will focus on creating and sustaining innovation in business.Operating as “Innovation Coach” the firm will promote corporate “Sustained Innovation Commitment”.The firm will focus on Innovation Audits that lead to action plans and initiatives based on “Robert’s Rules of Innovation”TM; Applying all the imperatives to need to be put in place to create and sustain innovation.

Brands has over 25 years of hands-on experience in the creating of innovation having worked in new product development and marketing at Philips Lighting, Sylvania and the Kohler Company. Most recently,Brands served as Managing Director of the Personal Care Division of Rexam Plastics.While at Rexam Plastics,Brands was responsible for roughly $1B in sales,with 25 sites worldwide and 11,000 employees in 3 business units:Dispensing Systems, Make Up, and HPC.Dispensing Units included fine fragrance mist, samplers,lotion, foam and specialty dispensers.Prior to Rexam and since 1998, Brands build (Rexam) Airspray N.V. is now a worldwide leader in the design,manufacture and supply of innovative non-aerosol foam technology that is used by consumer product entities around the world like instant foaming hand-soap etc.

Having gained hands-on experience in bringing innovation to market,creating and improving the necessary product development processes and needed culture, he delivered and exceeded to bring “at least one new product per year to market” resulting in double digit profitable growth and shareholder value.

Brands stresses the importance of creating and sustaining the ‘New’ in business, and is co-authoring the book Robert’s Rules of Innovation”TM with Marty Kleinman.The work is based on years of personal hands-on experience, research, surveys and numerous interviews with business leaders and communicates the importance and integrity that is innovation, and techniques to sustain it.The book is scheduled to be available the fall of 2009, both in hard copy as well as e-book.
